SAIC Magazine

Digital Design + Printed Mini Mailer ✹ 2022—2025

This section highlights my digital and print design work for the SAIC Magazine. During the pandemic, the magazine transitioned to a fully digital format, opening up new opportunities for more dynamic storytelling. The shift to an online only platform allowed for richer visual experiences through animation and motion, expanded accessibility for a wider audience, and quicker publication timelines. To showcase the range of my contributions, I selected four stories that represent different types of narratives I designed—from alumni accomplishments to exhibitions to event features. Below the highlights, you’ll find a complete gallery of every story I worked on. In addition to my online work, I designed the printed Spring 2025 mini mailer. Throughout these projects, I focused on creating engaging and accessible designs that support storytelling while maintaining the institution’s contemporary brand identity.

Picture This: Winter 2025 Study Abroad

FEATURE ✹ SPRING 25

Drawing inspiration from the diverse experiences of the students’ trips to Peru, India, and New York, I created a dynamic collage using their photos. I also integrated animations throughout that mimic flipping through a stack of pictures.

Beyond the Breath: A Q&A with Martin O’Brien

EVENTS FEATURE ✹ FALL 24

O’Brien was set to present a talk through the Visiting Artists Program at SAIC in the fall of 2024. Drawing inspiration from his exploration of mortality, I crafted a layout that complements the profound themes of his performance art for this Events Feature article.

Public Notice 3 and the Call for Unity Across Time

FROM THE ARCHIVES ✹ SPRING 25

This piece delves into Jitish Kallat’s Public Notice 3, an installation that reinterprets Swami Vivekananda’s 1893 speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions. My design approach aimed to echo the installation’s themes of historical resonance and contemporary relevance.

Evolving the Exhibition

ON VIEW ✹ SPRING 23

The nontraditional art featured in this story invites readers to immerse themselves in the viewing experience. I aimed to create a layout that explores the way color can showcase and enhance the reader’s engagement with photos of these exhibitions.

SAIC Magazine Mini Mailer

The mini mailer is a condensed, printed version of the SAIC Magazine, designed to highlight the featured stories. I led the design for the latest issue, creating a visually engaging mailer that captures the spirit of the full magazine in a more compact, accessible piece. Mailed to over 20,000 alumni, donors, and friends of SAIC, the mini mailer serves as a dynamic touchpoint.
